Sliders are one of the trendiest bar foods today, and a favorite of hipster “Gastro Pubs”. The origin of these small sandwiches was in diners where the prep work was “slid” across a large flat top heating surface. Devotees to the style of sandwich have all sorts of reasons of what makes an authentic slider, but the real benefit is the smaller size, which can put them somewhere between an appetizer and a meal.

1 Boneless beef chuck roast (3 lbs.)
¼ cup ketchup
2 tab. Brown sugar
2 tab. Red wine vinegar
1 tab. Dijon mustard
1 tab. Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed (optional)
¼ tea. Salt
¼ tea. liquid smoke
Pinch Black pepper
2 Pkg. Buns
Place beef in crock pot.
Combine remaining ingredients (except buns) in a bowl.
Pour mixture over meat.
Cover, cook low 8 to 9 hrs.
Remove meat from crock pot, shred with 2 forks. Trim off fat.
Add sauce mixture to meat. Serve on rolls.
HINT: I bottle of BBQ sauce can be used for sauce on meat.
Eliminate all other ingredients if using prepared BBQ sauce.
This recipe can be doubled in slow cooker for guests and buffet dinners.
When cooking a double batch, serve with platter of different size buns.
Pork roast can be substituted for Beef roast for a change-up.
